Blowing Bubbles Layout

Hey y'all!

I'm back with another layout for Scrap it With a Song which features some pictures from my recent trip to Texas. Our challenge for this week is "Blowin' in the Wind" by Bob Dylan.

Lately I can't get enough of the "Walnut Grove" collection by Pebbles Inc. This is my second Texas layout with this line and I also made another layout before that. I also squeezed out a card with it. So it was no surprise that when I went to pull out my leftovers to make this new layout, this is what I managed to come up with.

Luckily, I found a sketch on the Sketch with Color blog featuring strips of paper. And so the challenge of squeezing out a third layout was on!

Journaling: "It was the day before Lauren's wedding. We were all gathered together for breakfast and Lauren, Ava and I stepped outside to blow some bubbles. It was a sweet moment that I'll always treasure."

And I did it!

I managed to create this layout by using the patterned paper for strips and choosing a kraft background. I found that cloud stamp in the dollar bin at Michael's and I was excited to use it.

Sad to say now I am REALLY down to the bare minimum of my latest favorite collection. I think that means it's time to do some more shopping!

True Blue - A Dodgers Layout

Oops!

I was looking through some of my pictures and realized I never posted this layout I made for Scrap it With a Song! Oops! the challenge was "True Blue" by Madonna. Living in LA, that song title immediately brought one thing to mind...

Dodger blue, of course!

I actually made this layout using patterned papers from a 4th of July collection by Pebbles Inc. I had some scraps that worked perfectly.

Hello Box Card

Hello scrappy friends!

I have a new card today that I created for Pages From the Heart. I love scouring the Internet for new folding methods when making cards. I often find myself at Dawn's Stamping Thoughts and I was in luck when I found this video tutorial for a box card. Check out her site for more fabulous ideas!

This is my take on the box card!

I am determined to use every scrap I have of the Pebbles "Walnut Grove" collection! I love it! I've had it for a while now just because I don't want to run out! I am a true scrapbook hoarder. Guilty as charged.

If you are ever in the Monrovia, California area, please make a trip to Pages From the Heart. It is a wonderful store with lovely people!

So Dog Gone Cute - Layout Featuring a Pie Chart!

Happy Friday blog world! It seemed like Friday took forever to arrive this week but finally it's here!

Today I have a layout I created for Sketches in Thyme. I was asked to be a guest designer after I won the February sketch challenge. If you haven't been to their blog, they post three sketches per month. I love the variety of pages and photos in their sketches. And the "Sketchy Mavens" always have some amazing inspiration!

This week's sketch is a two-pager but I turned it into a one-pager to feature this Instagram photo I took of my cute dog and my cute shoes! I was trying to send my friend a picture of my new shoes and the doggie decided to photobomb!

Sketch #109

This was my first time making pie charts and I think I am hooked! They are so easy and make the perfect embellishment. I am also in love with this beautiful Amy Tangerine line, Ready Set Go.

Side note: Did you know that you can now print Instagram pictures at Walgreens??? And with their phone app it is SUPER DUPER easy!

Submissions for this week's sketch challenge are due by the end of the month. To see the other two sketches and the Design Team's take on this sketch, head on over to the Sketches in Thyme blog. They are also currently holding a Design Team call.

I Started a Joke - Texas Layout

Hello there! I am back with a layout for Scrap it With a Song. This week's challenge is "I Started a Joke" by the Bee Gees.

I was a little stuck on this layout. I finally settled on one of the lyrics, "I looked to the sky."

I used the Walnut Grove collection by Pebbles Inc. I love the country feeling to this line. These beautiful pictures of the Texas sky were taken in San Antonio at my cousin's wedding in February. It was a gorgeous evening at an equestrian center. The man in the pictures isn't too bad either!

This is my first layout in a while. I hit a bit of a slump. I went two months without scrapping which is an eternity for me! I think I'm back now.

I used sketch #107 from Sketches in Thyme. They are currently holding a Design Team call and I'm submitting my layout for consideration. Got my fingers crossed! (And my toes and my eyes!)

I'm also entering this layout over at Challenge #53: Sticky Situation over at Use it Tuesday. I've had these triangle/banner/notsurehowtousethemnorexactlywhattheyare stickers for some time now!
